Corp Contacts

Edgar McGilliam

Former Corporate Security Agent (Connections 1) • Human
Big and red-bearded, Edgar used to work for Renraku as one of the middle managers in the Arcology's security. He had a secure pension, and according to rumor, a wife and kids. He'd pretty much risen to the level of his interest and competence in the company, and could basically rely on the rest of his life looking pretty much the same, barring something unforeseen like an unfortunate shadowrun or something. Of course, as everyone knows, the rogue AI Deus was pretty much the definition of "something unforeseen."

When Deus took over the Arcology and shut it down for its own purposes, Edgar managed to get out of the Arcology with a minimum of permanent injuries. The same could not be said for his family or his identity, however. He'd vanished from the system, his records (like so many other peoples') a victim of Deus' takeover attempts. So, he settled into the life of the SINless in the Redmond Barrens, and found an easy enough job as a freelance security consultant at the Redmond Center Hotel and Dining Room. He's onsite security chief, with a small room and his meals taken care of by the restaurant. Cushy, as far as Barrens work goes, really. He maintains a handful of old contacts from his old days, as well as general knowledge of corp security procedures and the like.

Magical Contacts

Mama Sylvie

Talismonger (Connections 3) • Dwarf • Voodoo Tradition (Oak Mentor Spirit)
Mama Sylvie is a cigar-smoking dwarf of Caribbean extraction, and is pleasantly rotund. She wears her frizzy hair pulled and pinned back with a dozen different barettes and clips, and the whole covered with a white headcloth. Likewise, she wears immaculately white skirts and sleeveless tops.

Mama Sylvie is a talismonger who found her way to the Plastic Jungle many years ago as a young mambo seeking to understand why Le Gran Bois, the great forest loa would lead her to the heart of the Barrens. She settled in and has become the defacto healer and care-taker of the Plastic Jungles in her own way. She has staked a claim to a large swathe of area she uses as a garden and enchanting workshop, filled with all manner of impressive plant and animal life.

Media Contacts

Devin Cargyle

Journalist (Connections 3) • Human
Devin grew up in Redmond, living with her mother who fled an abusive wageslave husband to the Barrens. She fell in love with the glitz and glamour of Touristville when she was fifteen, and obsessed over it. She took up blogging about its trends and basically came to live there, providing an insider's point of view. As a result, her writing took off, and she eventually began to sell her articles and vlog entries to a variety of publication sites.

Devin is now an up-and-coming young fashion journalist, and considered the foremost expert on the party life of Touristville. Nobody is as "in" as she is with the chic freaks of the district, and that's the way she likes it. For her part, she doesn't pretend to be anything but someone in love with its charms, and that rich, infectious adoration comes through in her reporting, making her a fan favorite. She has begun to expand her offerings into other chic, shadowy nightlife areas of Seattle as well.

Shadow Contacts

Kirby Embermoon

Talislegger (Connections 3) • Elf • Hermetic Tradition An arch and severe elven smuggler, Embermoon's specialty is the smuggling run between Seattle and the NAN. He pilots a small carrier copter in his business, and specializes in air elementals who can conceal and speed along his ride. He is an excellent source of information on smugglers in general, on the NAN borders and on getting ahold of magical goods.

Street Contacts

Huxley

Fixer (Connections 2) • Orc
An orc who is fond of the bar Aces in Woodinville (in Redmond) is strictly small-time. He's the sort of fixer that street types find the most use for: he knows fences here and there, a couple of company men, and a whole body of street-level contacts, from talismongers to street docs. He doesn't like to deal in underworld circles, though, and doesn't know many in the corporate or shadows worlds, though that is changing.

He's a burly, barrel-shaped orc in a driver's cap and bifocals with very slight tusks. He is sort of a dirty old man, flirting outrageously with pretty girls, but overall a respectful and decent-tempered man. He has clearly seen some violence in his day and doesn't "take any guff," as he puts it.

Huxley recently barely survived an attempted assassination by a trio of runners supposedly sent by Clockwork. He has since fled Seattle for parts unknown.

Nightingale

Street Doc (Connections 3) • Human
A human woman in her mid-to-late thirties, Nightingale knows her business. She is also very distinctive: heavily chromed, some of it pretty old fashioned, from her black glass cybereyes to a whole head full of electronics (or so the rumors say). The most notable, of course, is something that only those she trusts ever sees: a black polyglass and white ceramic cyberarm with platinum inlays, with the signature of the premiere cyberneticist, Sorayama. Most of the time, she keeps that arm covered with her coat and a set of surgeon's gloves.

Nightingale is rumored to have once worked out of a shadow clinic. But something happened, and now she's a street doc on her own. She currently rents one of the office-and-theater spaces out of Dr. Bob's Quickstitch Clinic in the Touristville neighborhood of the Redmond Barrens.

Tenpenny

Electronician (Connections 2) • Human Reclusive and with a tendency towards obsessive in his work, Tenpenny is an electronician based out of Touristville. His shop is tucked away from the thoroughfares of the district, but everyone in the area uses him, whether for setting up business nodes or for delicate wiring work they don't want to trust just anybody to do well. He is also a good friend of the Brain Eaters gang, who occasionally go to him for hardware work, advice or to sell some of their most interesting finds.
