Lifestyle is a recurring cost, charged once per Chapter (as an abstraction, rather than keeping track of individual weeks or months). It covers one's dwelling place, style of living, and the like.

Inflation: At the start of each Chapter, the GM announces a number, usually between 1 and 10. This is the Inflation Modifier, which alters exactly how much variables such as living cost in a fluctuating economy. A 1 is an incredibly low-cost market, while a 10 reflects incredible expense. It usually hovers between 4 and 7.

Vehicles

Ships require fairly extensive maintenance, upkeep, fuel, docking fees, and the like.

  • Silhouette 3: Inflation x 25 credits, per Chapter.
  • Silhouette 4: Inflation x 50 credits, per Chapter.
  • Silhouette 5: Inflation x 100 credits, per Chapter.

Droids

Droids also require upkeep, in terms of routine maintenance, upgrading hardware and software to keep them up to date and efficient, and the like.

  • Droid: Inflation x 20 credits, per Chapter.

Living Standards

The following costs assume a single "household" of one person. Add an additional 20% to the cost per additional head folded into that household.

  • Aristocratic: Inflation x 1000 credits, per Chapter. A household that exists in lavish comfort and privilege, with all the finest foods, furnishings, wardrobes, and entertainment. Most who exist at this level actually maintain multiple households, but this is the base cost for a single household. Though this doesn't pay for any live-in servants, it does cover basic maintenance droids and the occasional drop-by service. (Live-in servants add +10% per head, rather than the normal +20% per additional household member.)
  • Upper Class: Inflation x 250 credits, per Chapter. Fine living spaces with the best of security, an expansive wardrobe with a few stellar show items, comfortable surroundings, good food, and plenty of entertainment options. Assumed to include droid-based cleaning and maintenance services, and hired local transportation.
  • Middle Class: Inflation x 100 credits, per Chapter. Decent living space with excellent automated security measures, good furnishings and decor, excellent food, and good entertainment options.
  • Lower Class: Inflation x 50 credits, per Chapter. This presumes relatively safe and secure dwelling space, a modest wardrobe (mostly of work clothing), and enough food to survive and thrive on, even if most of it is synthetic. It also includes a very modest entertainment budget, of the sort that involves a few drinks at a miserable dive or participating in public, largely free events.
