Shattered Time
Effects: Time is strange - people move and talk too fat, or too slow, and things seem to "skip" from moment to moment. At the beginning of each turn, roll a die and add it to one of the following traits for the remainder of the turn: Defense, Initiative, Speed, or Perception dice pool. Then roll a second die, and subtract that from a different trait.
If you roll a 10 on either die, you suffer an additional minor effect: a memory changes, an old acquaintance treats you differently (and now has retroactively always done so), you never picked up a minor object, or you suffer 1 point of bashing damage from an injury that you didn't have before now.
If you roll five or more 10s in an area of Shattered Time, a greater effect occurs: your history is rewritten, you gain a destiny, you leave before you arrived, or your timeline splits.
Time Magics: Using time-based magics in an area of Shattered Time gains an additional +1 to her pool and the action is considered a rote action. Mages gain a +1 bonus to their Paradox pool, which also is a rote action. Others simply count any 10s generated in the check toward major time effects (as above, for 5+ 10s generated).
Cause: Areas of shattered time.
End: End of scene, or other trigger to end effect.
