"The Vault" was founded by Haywood Nixon. It is a small collection of students from either well-to-do backgrounds or who are already involved in business in some way, with a thin veneer of social elitism slathered over the top of it. The philosophy of the Vault is simple: university is a training ground, not just for a degree, but for learning to pitch oneself to the top of whatever heap you find yourself in, learning to leverage contacts and opportunities other miss into success both social and financial.

Haywood was part of a similar group founded at a Seattle university by his older brother Clive Nixon, the renowned technologist financier and business mogul. When Haywood transferred to the University of Astoria, he established a new group for the same purpose.
