| Talapus Coyote and Trickster Spirit Talapus was known as a Protector of the Clatsop Peoples and a Protector of the Spirits of the Forest. He was a bringer of prosperity so long as the proper chiminage of cutting salmon the right way observed. He is believed to have been imprisoned long ago. We believe that the Monks have a vested interest in keeping Talapus imprisoned.
