  • Kunmargir: Origin world of the Academy of Night, with the most Academy Citadels in orbit around it. Surface has been all but abandoned, and returned to a state of near pristine wildness.
  • Erudan: The second world, a water world, with cold waters that are constantly freezing and thawing as they rotate to face away from and then toward the sun. Home to erudael, a humanoid people who dwell in subaquatic/subterranean homes near the warm center of the world.

Theme: Survival, cold, strength, logic, night

  • The Academy of Night: Foremost scholarly institution, with branches in other systems. Teach cold logic as a discipline, avoiding sunlight. Located on a moon with a counter-solar rotation
  • Former barbarian cultures now heavily influenced by Academy to form consensus-based philosophical governments. Heavily involved in establishment of orbital citadels that use everfrost.
  • Few remaining "frost-worlder" cultures that dwell on cold planetary surfaces.
  • Everfrost: water treated with a chemical that, when frozen, sets up a freezing reaction in the ice, causing it to maintain its cold temperature almost indefinitely. Chemical also creates ice of steel-like strength and durability that "weeps" mist in warm climes.
  • Dueling Culture: Frostworlders and Citadelers alike maintain a dueling culture, using everfrost blades.
