The magic letter box gives a squeak as it depressurizes (always happens after the twin box is used). It is a letter from Dr. Nathu:

Aidan, I hope you are well. I grieve for the loss of Sorlandira of the House Amneshai. She was an astounding woman and the world will miss her in a very profound manner. I send this letter in hopes to establish a correspondence and and undergo building a future familiarity. You and your companions are at the center of a grand vortex of change that is quite likely to change the world, it already has and the change will continue to compound. I possess certain skill and knowledge that could prove very useful to one such as you. So I offer my services in exchange for information. I wish to be kept up to date on events from your perspective. This information will allow me to better do my job and provide superior advice and information for you.

First I will reveal who I am. I am Doctor Jarud Nathu, a professor of language and history and keeper of old dusty tomes in the largest library in the world, the Black Library of Obsidian in the North. I am a Priest of Corinth as well as a member of The Foundation. I was a friend of Ben, your Wizard of the Athenaeum of Ree. We met long ago when he was traveling in Sedas and shared a few adventures together. That is when I presented him with this letter box. I will always remember him fondly. He was a good man.

I know only a little about you, but would very much like to learn more. It has been some time since my interest has been quite so peaked. And from what I’ve been hearing, it would seem you have caught the attention of great Corinth himself.

I eagerly await your reply.

Sincerely, Dr. Nathu of the Black Library
