Many years ago, Gilmerelin began hearing the call of Nyota (celestial for "Star", pronounced "NEE-O-TAH")in her reverie. As the years went on the call became stronger; till eventually she was unable to resist the urge to leave in search of the origin of this strange yearning.

4 years into her search, she came upon an an ancient grove made of rock carved in strange symbols and surrounded by an oaken wood. Searching within, she found a pedestal hidden behind thickly grown vines. As she touched the pedestal, the strange marks began to glow and shine--growing into a brilliance that Gilmerelin could not look at. When the light began to fade, she looked back at the pedestal and saw that a ring lay there. She knew then that this ring is what has been calling to her.

Throwing caution to the wind, she picked up the ring and immediately placed it upon her finger. What happened afterwards what so unlike anything Gilimerelin had ever experienced before, that she will remember it forever. The ring, again shown with light, but this light was of a different sort--this light seemed to permeate all solid matter, including the enchantress herself. Lost in her reverie, she found herself in what she thought was another plane of exisitance. She saw a form come lose to her--a figure made of light. Try as she might, she could not make out the features or sex of this being. Suddenly the light faded away and Gilmerelin was back in the oaken grove. As continued to fade back into the ring, she heard in a seemed to be a whisper in her mind,"I am Nyota."

After this experience, the enchantress found that she had a new longing to be connected to the mortal realm. She thought of her son Edgar, and her people that she was banished from so very long ago. Though she is unsure how the ring will effect her life, she is certain that she was chosen to be it's bearer.
