Sitha's story:

Her people held strong to the reverence of their mother, the Prime Juto, thus marking them as enemies of the gods and their Church. The Church had captured her and planned on using an ancient elven ritual to banish all of her race to Sanctuary using their Kiran-Ark Key. During the ritual she managed to escape, and smashed their Key - there was an explosion and she awoke in Sanctuary with several of the Church guards and clerics. She unhooded herself and they ceased to be a problem. The ettin later claimed their stony forms as decorative baubles for their yards and gardens.

She survived as best she could until she cowed the stryx into leaving her alone and discovered the "glitch" in the Sanctuary construct. While time is strange in Sanctuary, it is far stranger in that strange space. Sitha is unsure exactly how old she is. While it's clear Sanctuary has a time ratio of approximately 1 to 17 (one 14 hour Sanctuary day/night cycle equals approximately TEN 24 hours day/night cycles in the World). The glitch both stretches & dilates that sequence. Sometimes she'd visit the glitch and be gone for days, but would return mere seconds after she had entered it, but other times she'd just pop into the casino for a night cap and return to find that days had passed.

  • "I met Caliban at the casino. He was so handsome and dashing. We shared a few adventures in the worlds that Sanctuary touches. Then he was gone without any warning. I woke one morning and he was not there. Days, months, years - I'm not sure how long it was, passed and then he was back as if he'd only just left. Perhaps for him that's all it had been. But he was changed. He carried a sadness with him. He claimed to have been to a distant future. He spoke of a son that he had to meet. Of a disaster in a place called Obsidian, something about a commander and his pet rook and of a family he did not have yet and a tragedy that he must stop from happening to them. I can't remember all of the things he was hastily repeating to himself, so that he would remember it all. He spoke of sundering the Key when it was all done, giving half of it to an elven knight called Andaro and traveling into the South to hide the other. He stated that he only had a tiny time frame in order to get things right and that we must hurry. But we were attacked by ettin and were separated. I managed to escape them and was racing to the Kiran-Ark. I must have arrived only seconds after he had left. The artifact was still spinning from having been used. He had left me. I was not angry - he'd explained to me that he had to leave at a certain time in order to take advantage of the rift to find his son. He had run out of time. That is when I removed the crystal from the device, so that anyone else who visited Sanctuary would be forced to find me. I would have never thought it possible that it was the son he'd left me to go find. I do not know where or when Caliban went, or how often. The things he spoke of, it's unclear which of them is in your past, present, future or how often in each of them. I just...keep waiting for him to walk through that door."
