Just beyond the Thanewall begins the Frostwood, a verdant and green coniferous forest. Though both dwarves and men hunt in its outer edges, they all know not too go too deep into its darkness, because it is a dangerous place filled with wild things. Also in those depths are the Frostwood elves, who live perilous lives thanks to those creatures. In fact, some believe that the Frostwood elves are slowly dying out thanks to those dangers, and though the Guildsmoot has offered them sanctuary within the Vale, they have refused in every instance, steadfast in their belief that elves who leave the forest are as good as dead, and they would rather die in body defending their home than to die in spirit leaving it behind.
