The Redwood Forum is one of two Free Council Assemblies that covers the state of Oregon. Free Council in northern California, and in south and central Oregon belong to the Redwood Forum. Those in north Oregon (mainly just Portland) and all the state of Washington are part of the Emerald Parliament, based out of Seattle.

The Redwood Forum concerns itself more with the revolutionary elements of Free Council philosophy than the innovative. Based as they are out of Eugene, they have ties to a number of activist organizations, leftist political lobbies and even to the notorious anarchist groups known to be based out of Eugene.

Unlike the Emerald Parliament, the Redwood Forum has no interest in replacing the Consilii in the area with their own Assembly system. They consider themselves much more of a "long view" organization, seeking to disseminate their philosophy to work within the communal political structure established by the other four Orders.

The Syndics of the Redwood Forum are notorious for their opinion that it is arrogant of their Order to attempt to replace the Consilium system - it is a system that all four of the other Orders have worked out among them, and for the Free Council to come along and insist that their system is somehow superior and meets everyone's needs is foolhardy and doomed to failure.

Caucus House

The Redwood Forum has no single gathering place. Instead, they meet in locales provided to them by the Hierarchs of the Compact and the Conclave. Indeed, each of the Hierarchs routinely attempts to outdo the other in providing better accommodations for the Redwood Forum, anxious to keep the Free Councilors of their Consilii content.

Gatherings

The Redwood Forum meets officially in full Assembly on the solstices and equinoxes. In-between such meetings, however, they often get together informally at a venue provided by one of their Hosts. This happens once a month, except on months where one of the solstice or equinox gatherings are held.
