Prince Cir, the Duke of Yira, Son of the Great Cleric King of Sedas aka, the Poison Prince aka, the Necromancer of Rhys

So long as his father Unsur "lives", Cir cannot be trialed & held accountable for patricide. Unsur fell ill at a feast two centuries ago - it was suspected that he was to name his daughter Yaris as his heir over his elder son Cir that night (he had just awarded Cir with dukedom over the lands of Yira), but he fell into a sleep he has yet to awake from. Yaris accused her brother of poisoning their father and was exiled by Cir, who since no formal announcement had been made to place her in any authority over him, had thus committed treason by the laws of Sedas by accusing the rightful heir of treason.

The ancient order of wizard knights, the Order of Nine Stars, whom had protected the rulers of Sedas since before memory would eventually split. Those who refused to accept the necromancer Cir as the rightful ruler left the capitol city of Rhys and have since joined with the Rebel Princess Yaris in exile. The rest of the Order remain in Rhys where even there they are split into factions, those who willingly support Cir and his methods, even to the extent that some have began to support & study the forbidden mysteries of necromancy, and there are those who remain loyal to the crown per the ancient laws of Sedas, but do not like what is happening - some of this number are secretly in league with the rebels of their Order, but remained behind where they felt they had the potential to do more good within Rhys than without. The smallest of factions within the knights feel that neither of the warring siblings are worthy to lead, and failing the restoration of the sleeping king, they instead seek to raise the youngest of his children, the boy prince Enil to the crown.

The faithful of the goddess Rhys were not beholden to the law & crown as the knights of the Order were & would pose a greater threat to Cir's rule. They were also bound to oppose undead & necromancy, which would also prove problematic for him. So the elven clerics had been exiled from Sedas & all legal authority they had under the crown stripped from them. The Cleric King's loyal retinue had refused to leave & after opposing Cir were captured and publicly executed. Cir had the Rhys Cathedral destroyed and it's priests cast into the dungeons to rot. Most of the clerics of Rhys went into hiding or else fled Sedas to join their divine brothers & sisters at the Lance in Kanith.

In the past, the elves of Sedas had remained friendly, yet neutral with neighboring realms. They gladly traded and trafficked with the humans of Hana, Gir & Kanith and even the dwarves of Olmon before the King of Gir sealed the dwarves within their underground city when the Shiver Plague had struck. They had been friends with the dwarves of Nir to the south before they had mysteriously vanished. Under Prince Cir's rule, this has changed. The Sedasi have formed an alliance with the military power of Gir, which has estranged them from the republic of Hana and especially the priesthood ruled realms of Kanith.
