Background

The wind dancing with cottonwood trees, the smell of rich soil, and the sweet songs of birds returning from the north are my earliest memories. The Delannwoods were always full of wild life. The two legged, four legged, and root peoples’ all living in harmony. This is where I spent the first ten years of my life. Laughing, playing, and learning about nature. My parents (Larandaris and Adoniana) were of great importance to our tribe, the Tall Oak.

They would protect the village and or the Elven Counsel, depending whether we were in war time or peace time with neighboring tribes. My father was known for his steady shot, healing abilities, and his stoic yet compassionate nature. My Mother was an amazing sorceress who specialized in summoning natural creatures. And then there was her, Amari. My best friend and childhood crush. We grew up together, both learned about the druidic path together, and were there that day… I will never forget the day the humans came.

It was a very warm summer day. Amari knew we shouldn’t have gone up the river so far from the village. We were practicing using our energy to speed up the growth of plants near the river when we saw the men in armor. As we ran back toward the forest a rain of nets fell onto us and our friends. Next I knew I was in a cage on a caravan going away from the forest, home. I never saw Amari after that day, but our druidic necklaces from our villages order could reconnect us….

I was sold as a footer to a noble in Liminal for the next ten years. The servants of Liminal are only a half step above the seedy underbelly of the city. Feeling depressed from capture, out of my element, and angry I naturally fell into the underbelly. I learned how the streets work, flipping goods on the side, stealing for extra food, and about whores. During this time I became proficient with daggers, dice, and avoiding being caught. It took ten years, but I bought my freedom from my noble. Penniless again, I spent another two years barely getting by. At this time I worked for Nadrak, a crime boss of the Workman's Quintan. The work was steady, but always illegal. I got pretty good at stealing, hiding treasure in the ground, and killing.

Finally, twelve years later, I made it back home. But it wasn’t the same. I wasn’t the same. Years of city living, repressed anger, and longing for the one who kept me going, Amari; I didn’t fit with my village any more. I spent five years back in my village getting the training I needed to find Amari and drag her back to the Delannwoods where we both belonged….
